Childrens Classes

The USA Martial Arts Training Centers are recognized worldwide as a leading organization in Martial Arts education.  Our USA Martial Arts Children’s Programs include training in Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Aikido, Judo, Jujitsu, Kobudo, and Iaido.  It is designed to teach your child basic Martial Arts skills while developing coordination and concentration abilities.  Our program will help motivate your child and build their self-esteem and self-control.  Your child will gain confidence and learn the value of respect, discipline, and manners.  They will gain skills for better academic achievement as well as physical fitness.

They will learn important self-defense skills that will help them throughout their lives.  At this age much of the self-defense in this program is about “Stranger Danger”, and how to get away, as well what to do in a “Bully Situation”.

We offer a variety of classes throughout the week at all three of our locations; St. Albans, Kanawha City, and Teays Valley.  Once your child is enrolled, they can come once a week or to an unlimited number of classes.  They may also attend any of the three locations!

Our children’s classes are divided into two basic age groups:

Junior classes (ages 6 to 11), and Little Dragons (ages 3 to 6).

Our Junior Classes offer three different types of training:

Tae Kwon Do Karate – traditional kicking and punching for self defense and sport.

Aiki Judo – which is a blend of Aikido, Judo, and Jujitsu skills designed for children, with different throws, locks, and grappling techniques.

Iaido – Japanese sword training (not for beginning children)

Our nationally acclaimed Little Dragon’s Program for pre-school and kindergarten children was developed by Master Roger Jarrett in the early 1980’s at the St. Albans location.  It is now used around the world in Martial Arts schools.  This class is designed to help increase your child’s coordination and their ability to concentrate and focus.  They will learn a lot about etiquette and manners as well as simple self defense and “stranger danger” techniques and awareness.

We like to have each child come in and take a Free Introductory Lesson, so we can evaluate them to make sure they are ready for the program.  Give us a call at 304 722-4512 and let us schedule your child for this Free Lesson.
